Milodon oil pans are designed to provide maximum performance for a specific application. They are designed for the engine, the car and the use. The engine may have a stock stroke length or a longer stroke. The car may be different than the engine that came stock or if it was stock is there room for headers and chassis components. The use will determine ground clearance, type of oil pan baffling and oil capacity required. Important requirements for performance oil pans include oil control to allow good oil supply, tray and scraper design to yield maximum power, increased sump capacity to assure an ample supply of lubricant at lower oil temperatures, plus design considerations such as required ground and component clearance.Street and Strip oil pans require more oil capacity for higher performance and RPM than when stock yet still need adequate ground clearance.
